Roller Derby doesn't scare me. The girls who are twice my size with muscles the size of my entire self don't scare me. The skaters who can lap me in the blink of an eye without flailing their arms or falling as they round the corner. It doesn't scare me, because i've beat bigger demons than all of them combined.
I am happy. I am alive and healthy and strong. I'm enjoying my life for the first time in 24 years. I'm so excited about the possibilities that are headed my way.
